Missing photos from Gallery app after having no service

I was in an area with no service for a few hours. Took a bunch of photos and I can attach them to messages but if I click gallery they aren't there. I can only see them if I hit attach when sending a message. How do I get them back??

Hey there @userHG4gG5NuPE, I hope you're doing well.

Have you tried rebooting your device?

Yes, I've restarted it but it's still missing from gallery. I went to My Files and the pictures aren't there either but if I go to messages and attach I can attach them but that's it.

Re: Missing photos from Gallery app after having no service

Hey @userHG4gG5NuPE, thank you for getting back to me.

Please try downloading a third-party gallery app such as Google Photo's or Google Gallery Go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.photosgo

See if your photo's appear in these apps. Please let me know the results.

Re: Missing photos from Gallery app after having no service

I had google photos already on my phone and the missing ones aren't there. I downloaded two more galleries including Samsung gallery and they are still missing from those apps.

Re: Missing photos from Gallery app after having no service

Thanks for getting back to me @userHG4gG5NuPE.

Can you try wiping your system cache? To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
  4. An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight Wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Bixby / Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Bixby / Power key to select.
  8. When the process is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Bixby / Power key to restart the device.

I hope this will do the trick. Please let me know. Take care.
