Phone keypad numbers not recognized on automatic menus

On my Galaxy S20 5G, when I am on a call, and encounter a voicemail menu that requires me to press a number on my phone keypad during the call, the menus of multiple different call recipients do not recognize that I have pressed a number on my phone keypad. Extremely frustrating.

same problem with Galaxy A53.  this is a HUGE PROBLEM. 

why is no one at Samsung responding??!!
