Hey guys. I tried on Reddit last week to see if I could solve my issue, but it wasn't very helpful, so I thought I'd try here. I've had the S20 FE for about a little over a week now. The phone is great. However, I'm having one major issue. My phone is overheating overnight and almost completely draining my battery. It's happened a few times now. I thought an adblock app was the issue. I deleted it, and didn't have any issue over the weekend. However, last night, it nearly drained again. The message I got was, "Some apps or background processes are overheating your CPU. You should restart your phone." I looked at the battery usage, and the percentages don't add up. The percentage is very small. I don't know what's causing this. The other weird thing is that this only happens sometimes overnight. I never have this issue during the day. Right before I go to bed, I watch a couple of videos on the Samsung browser app and on YouTube, but that's it. Also, sometimes the phone gets hot afterwards too.

Is an app causing this? Is there some system settings I need to adjust? Is it a virus? I've run some diagnostic apps, and nothing bad shows up. I never had this issue with my S9, and I don't want to have to end up returning this phone. Also, I feel like I shouldn't have to restart my phone every night before I go to bed. I was told to factory reset it, but there has to be another way to fix it. I'm only gonna do that as a last resort. Thanks!

Hello!

Thank you for reaching out. Have you been able to test your device while in safe mode to see if you still experiencing these symptoms? You can do so by following these steps.

Press and hold the power button until power off, restart, and emergency mode show on screen

Tap and hold on the power off option until it changes to safe mode, then tap on safe mode

The phone will then reboot into safe mode. You will be able to check that it is by a grey transparent box in the bottom left of the screen that says safe mode.

I have not tried that yet. I'll try that tonight and for a few more nights to see if the issue still persists. Thanks!
