Does every single Galaxy s20 Ultra get the crack in the back of the camera? Will a camera protector help it from doing so? I use an otterbox defender series pro case and so far, so good. I'm getting my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen.

I tried that route of inquiry.  Samsung kept refusing to honor the warranty, claiming that I caused the damage.

I'm bringing mine back to the Telco I bought it from. They can inspect and swap it over or ideally downgrade it to an S20+ at this stage. The Ultra's camera isn't all that great anyway. Auto focus issues are still there and macro shooting is a problem I wish I knew about before I handed over cash.

Since receiving the latest update my Ultra camera is just about perfect.

I'm very content with my phone.

$1400. Base price is a ton of money for a phone that develops cracks in a protective lens glass covering. Did Samsung think these phones wouldn't get bumped around or go into pocketbooks and pants pockets, etc.

So many issues with this particular phone.

I've been using Samsung phones for many years but I'm seriously considering taking my business elsewhere when my wife and I purchase our next devices.

The faulty camera system is a subject for another post.

Check this thread, there's a lot of us with this issue and so far Samsung are not willing to take ownership, and blaming any physical damage as operator fault !.

You folks should be able to take it back to the shops you bought it from and get a warranty swap for a new device. Besides pressure on Samsung, I would also put pressure on the retailers that sold you the device to do the right thing by you. The retailers have more power to influence Samsung. Afterall, they buy the phones in bulk to sell to you.

I tried to get Verizon to take it back.  They refused since I had not seen the flaw until 4 weeks after purchase.  They said they wouldn't even take it back if I had been in the 14 days though because they too would say they have no way of knowing that I didn't break it.  Sounds like the only way to get a refund from Verizon would be to check the phone IN THE STORE immediately after purchase, and go over it with a magnifying glass since this hairline crack is barely visible, and not visible at all if you need readers.

Same with me.  Mine was fine then the next you know its broke right beside where it says 100x space zoom
