I too had my camera bump break though it was in a good quality case.  My model is the SM-G988W which is the 512GB here in Canada.  I had to send my phone nearly 4000km (2485mi) away, but it did get fixed.  Unfortunately, when they sent it back the factory screen protector was in a state of disrepair, so now it has a third party one.

I considered buying new s20 for a while now but after reading this topic im definitely not going to anymore. I hope Samsung will step up and do a recall or fix the issue free of charge for everyone affected.

Same issue here. Had phone 4 Days in an Otterbox since day 1. Had hardly touched phone since buying it had not even spent time in my pocket yet. Noticed a crack from one side of the screen to another.

Same thing happened with mine. The rear camera glass has a diagonal crack without any impact. I purchased a genuine Samsung case specifically to protect the camera! I have also noticed that his part of the phone gets really hot.  Samsung customer service is no help just referring you to a repair centre. I am hoping for a recall.

Camera bump cracked

I have a galaxy s20 ultra (very expensive)

I been heading about other users of the s20 ultra having the camera bump getting cracked so diced to keep checking my so I been noticing some cracks.

They aren't on the outside. They are inside the glass its like is been cracked from the inside out and it seen like its expanding across the camera bump. Phone hasn't been dropped at all I would expect a better quality from a phone of this high price

Whenever I record indoors the camera is always so dark. I had this issue with my s10 plus phone and now I'm having it with the s20 plus phone. And the quality indoors is so muddy. This needs to be fixed. Most people buy these phones mainly for the cameras. And at a $1,000 pricetag, I feel like I'm getting jipped. Also. My wifi keeps constantly disconnecting.

The cracking camera screens on S20 Ultra

I've been reading about these stories and it's shocking the glass can spontaneously break.  These consumers say they didn't drop or abuse their phone.

 

But I think that putting the phone on a desk or in your bag without a protective case slowly damages the glass because of the large camera bump.

 

I have a very nice slim case the makes the bump leveled so the phone doesn't spin around when it's naked.  Maybe the cheapest thing Samsung can do is create cases that will level this bump for consumers and make it an optional accessory.  Or in indeed there's a flaw, make the glass stronger!

 

Do you think there's a flaw with the S20 Ultra? Do you think smartphones with the huge camera humps on the back will be much more susceptible to damage?

Realistically, you'll never be able to get to the bottom of it through speculation, it is clear there's a problem but it will require a lab to work it out. A consumer show in the UK investigated the moisture detection inside iPhones a couple years back and concluded having the phone in the pocket whilst the body is warm could lead to tripping the moisture detection which Apple would then say the warranty is void due to water damage. I use a Spigen case which covers the rear lens bump with an even bigger bump and I pray that will keep it safe but who knows. A product is meant to withstand everyday wear and tear, that is putting it in your pocket and taking it out, if it can't do that, then we've all been missold. Samsung don't want to cough up for the repair costs and know we, the customers can't afford a lab to investigate the matter fully therefore they win by a blanket no to neglect/physical damage. Just by looking at the number of posts on here alone, not looking at the EU forums, tells us there is a design flaw.
