S20 emits ticking sound when wireless charging

In January I purchased 2 Anker PowerWave Stands to charge my old Note5 on and they were AMAZING. a significant upgrade over the samsung product which was finicky and unreliable.

Yesterday I upgraded to a s20 plus and now at night when everything is silent the phone (not the charger) emits a faint tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick sound just loud enough to keep me from falling asleep.

I've tried adjusting positioning, turning off fast wireless charging, everything I can think of. I can't make it stop!

I don't want to scrap my Anker stands. Is there a problem with this phone?

Re: S20 emits ticking sound when wireless charging

The issue is that your new s20 can charge at a rate of over 10W wirelessly while your Anker Power Stands only support a charging rate of up to 10W. Pushing the charger as hard as it'll go often results in that sound. I would also suggest using a cable with the s20 as it can charge at a rate of up to 25W through it.

That is unfortunate. I hate being cabled.

In that case I would suggest you purchase a wireless charger rated for a higher Watt output as that should mitigate your ticking problem
