Texts show up on recipient's phone under wrong number

i am sending texts and the recipient (my daughter) is intermittently receiving them under  different (random) numbers.  I have had this S20 for over a year and this issue just started occurring today.  This only seems to be occurring with group messages. My phone number has not changed. 

Based on a suggestion in a similar thread posted for the S21, I decided to try Google Messages instead, but the problem is still occurring intermittently.

This would be a carrier issue as it could be your Sim card I would start off with them first

I will try that out. Thanks for the suggestion. I was wondering about that. I suppose it's possible that my SIM card may be failing.

What carrier do you have? I ask because tmobile sim swapped me when I went to get a new sim card they gave me the lady who was there at the same times son's number

This sounds like you have double contact information saved in the receiving phone go through your contacts and see if you have any double names and phone numbers otherwise this is purely a carrier issue as they are the ones sending the information to your device if checking your contacts does not fix your problems I recommend calling your carrier you might need to get a new SIM card from them to fix the issue
