Unlocking my phone

I recently purchased a S20 and it has locked the screen during the night and is asking for a pin which i never set as I was using the fingerprint to unlock but isn't giving me that option how do I unlock when I don't have a pin number

Mine did this exact same thing to me. I took it to my phone carrier and was told that they couldn't do anything for me. My geek neighbors fixed it for me. I am with a new phone carrier now. I only had a fingerprint unlock too....but I did do a 4 digit PIN hoping it doesn't happen again.

But you have to set a pin in order to set up a fingerprint or any other lockscreen security? Right?

you have to set backup lock(pin, password, pattern etc) when registering fingerprint, in case your fingerprint does not work, and it is a requirement.
