Weird things happening

I will suddenly get a bunch of notifications. Some I never got, some are old messages I've already replied to. They all come in at once from different apps. IG seems to have the most problems, but notifications on many apps aren't working. Google play store won't download any updates. I have to reset all app preferences to make it work again, then it stops working. My calendar widget isn't working right, but after resetting app preferences it too works momentarily. Are these issues related? How can I fix the sudden flood of notifications from multiple apps?

Re: Weird things happening

Hello,

How long have these symptoms been occurring?

Have you recently installed an update on your device?

Let's try wiping the cache partition on your phone to see if that helps any.

- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
- When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
- An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight Wipe cache partition.
- Press Bixby / Power key to select.
- Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Bixby / Power key to select.
- When the process is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
- Press the Bixby / Power key to restart the device.

Re: Re: Weird things happening

I just got this brand new phone a couple weeks ago. it's the S20+. yes my phone is updated. Like I said I can't use the Google play store to update apps it won't work. also I got a duo call which didn't come thru. I changed a couple of settings, all of the sudden the missed notification pops up. why are so many things not working in my brand new phone?

Re: Weird things happening

Does this issue still persist when your phone is in safe mode?

  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Bixby / Power key past the model name screen appearing on the screen.
  3. When SAMSUNG appears on the screen, release the Bixby / Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. When Safe mode appears in the bottom left corner of the screen, release the Volume down key.
  7. While in Safe mode, you can now uninstall apps that are causing a problem.

Turn off safe mode

  1. Press and hold the Bixby / Power and Volume down key.
  2. Tap Restart > Restart.
  3. The device will restart in standard mode and you can resume normal use.
