So according to what I read here, Samsung pushed the security updates to the carriers in which T-Mobile has not pushed it out yet, but according to T-Mobile, they said Samsung will push it out directly. I hate this confusion of who is pushing updates. Some updates seem to be the carriers responsibility and then some are the manufacturers...which one is it? To me if you have an unlocked version which is compatible to all carriers and Samsung should be pushing updates out to the unlock carriers for all updates and if that's the case where is the May update. Samsung claims that they're going to be fast and efficient on updates and I've yet to see that yet. I have contacted T-Mobile twice about the update and they act like they haven't even heard of it.

Samsung releases the updates to the carriers and the carriers push the updates at their own discretion, depending on who you spoke to with T-Mobile they may not be aware of how they distribute the updates to their customers.

If you'd like Samsung to update your device directly you can schedule an appointment at a Samsung Experience Store or a local Ubreakifix location we can Factory Flash your device with the latest software at no charge. Please back up all data prior to Flashing your device.

I believe this has to do with the messenger compressing your devices video to be able to send.

Any media sent as SMS will always be compressed. RCS or chat apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, or Signal work best for that. you can also send a link to your video through Google Photos which should be a good size.

Yeah I noticed sending video to another Android that has RCS enabled sends high quality videos if both sides have RCS. But if you send a video to say an iphone user then it will be a bad compressed video. Same with received videos from iphone. They are crappy. I know Apple will probably never create iMessage for Android (even though they would make a ton of money), but I think they should be forced to support RCS to help eliminate SMS/MMS, which is basically obsolete tech.

If you're using Samsung messages it still doesn't support RCS you have to use Android messages or use WhatsApp but for stock messaging you need to use Android Google messages Samsung messages still doesn't support RCs for some reason or at least I haven't got it to update
