I went online this afternoon to register my SM-G990U S21 that I purchased today at T-mobile, and I'm getting the response the devices is already registered? How could that be? I just bought it today? I got the IMEI from the receipt because the IMEI from the box is smudged and missing one number. Is that normal? I'm thinking about returning the device tomorrow. Something isn't right.

Go to settings then about phone and see if IMEI matches.
Maybe after purchase T-Mobile registers devices. When I buy a device directly from a carrier, then I go to them for all the warranty claims.

When you sign into your Samsung account on any device, it automatically registers it to your account, hence why it shows there online.
