Sometimes when I use my Samsung Galaxy S21 5G camera the button will turn red and zoom in and out. I am not swiping or holding the button. I haven't found any reasons when I search Google.

Hi @userRKWTCMpA5z, I understand how frustrating this can be. There a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

1 Try clearing the app cache. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00077611

2. Test the camera using another app

3. Test the camera while in Safe

Mode. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

4. Reset the camera settings: Open the Camera app, and then tap Settings. Swipe to and tap Reset settings, and then tap Reset.

4. Back up and factory reset the phone. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/

If the camera is still not working properly after completing all of these steps, it would be recommended to have the phone evaluated by a certified technician. You can take the phone to a local uBreakiFix location, https://www.ubreakifix.com/samsung, for an in-person evaluation. Samsung also offers ship-in service. Could be a wide range of issues. It can range from Dirty lense causing focus issues all the way to the camera not being able to access internal compass settings. My first look would be cleaning the phone surface and then lenses. Then I would look at the software. Check to see if you are running the latest security Patch dated August 1. This has camera improvements and may resolve the issue.

Thank you for your reply. Lens and screen are regularly cleaned. Cache cleared regularly. Updates are up-to-date and auto updated (just had one yesterday). Camera is still horrible (blurry) even with updates. I need to always take multiples of a shot to get a good one.

I see you are using the s21. I have the ultra and a little more experience with this device. It sounds like you may need a authorized tech. If the lens cover is clean then there maybe a faulty sensor, lense or internal contamination. Really can be a wide range of things but a tech can help narrow down the cause or may give insight to design issues that may not be public information. Sounds like you are doing what you can control. I hope you find a solution. My experience has exceeded my expectations and hope you can get to fully enjoying your device.
