I received my new Galaxy S21 today (brought from Samsung). As soon as I got it, plugged it into that charger. It charged from 49% to 94% without any issues. Then it stopped charging. Prior to this phone, I purchased another S21 from Samsung. That had the same issue. It actually kept stopping at lower thresholds each time it was connected to the charger. The Samsung tech believed that there is an issue with the phone. So, I returned it and got a new phone. Apparently, same behavior with this phone as well. Anyone has any idea why this is happening?

Maybe it's the charger - try another charger

Thank you for the suggestion. Two chargers caused the same issue. However, I was able to charge the phone to 100% using a third brand new charger.

Does the S21 include Battery protection mode? My Flip 3 stops charging at 85% if I enable it. Might be something to look into.

Thanks for update.

We have found that using third party chargers don't work as good as the branded chargers ... for example, charging a Samsung phone with a Samsung charger works best. Or if one has an LG phone, use an LG charger.

As a side note : hubby and I have "Protect Battery" option enabled for our phones. This allows the charge to reach 85% then stops. Constantly charging to 100% will degrade the overall life of a battery.
