God this phone scratches soo easily

I literally clean out my pockets before I put my phone in there and every time I pull it out there's more scratches all over the display, some deep where you can see it on any lighting condition and some you can see in light (with the display on)

Like come on I just bought this phone and it's scratched up... usa model so no built in screen protector

I don't think that there is a phone that comes with built-in screen protector. What I do when I'm buying phone is getting case that can protect my phone from scratches on the casing and also screen protector with tempered glass. Best screen protector is zagg shield

Carefully check to see if there is a very thin screen protector and pull it off and get a good one. Most non-US phones have this

It doesn't have a built-in screen protector, checked by looking at the front facing camera

Agree with that. So much for the Gorilla Glass Victus. It seems you have to wrap it up in a microfiber cloth before putting in your pocket.

The oleophobic coating wears off quickly as well.

The coating should last a year or 2, from my experience the coating doesn't wear off quickly. Maybe you did something to remove it, like put hand sanitizer or alcohol wipes on it?

No, I have been extremely careful not to use anything but a dampened and clean microfiber cloth, but it has still worn off in the area I thumb across the most within a few months. It is the area where my thumb scrolls the screen most often.

I would just get the coating replaced every few months then, it shouldn't be expensive ( assuming you live near a samsjng store)

A what now? I wasn't even aware that Samsung had stores. There definitely aren't any near me. U Break I Fix and Batteries Plus will service them. But they' aren't doing anything like replacing the oleophobic coating.
