Pictures taken are in heic format after one of the recent software update. Is there way to set my s21 ULTRA 5g phone to take pictures in jpeg, NOT heic? Every APP which offers conversion offers a very limited numer of pictures to convert for free. IT IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND TIME CONSUMING TO ALWAYS HAVE TO CONVERT HEIC to JPEG. SAMSUNG - DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. RETURN THIS OLD FUNCTION OF TAKING PICTURES IN JPEG TO YOUR SOFTWARE. I have been notified by many of my picture receipients that they couldn't open them. Thank you.
From the Camera app, open camera settings. Navigate to Advanced camera options and toggle off High Efficiency Photos. You can set the pro mode to default to jpeg as well.
High efficiency picture command shows exactly as suggested by you. I turned off High efficiency pictures, and I believe that did the trick! Tested 1 picture and it is in jpeg.
I got slightly different a second command in the camera app: "RAW copies. Save both JPEG and RAW copies of pictures taken in PRO mode. Color tone adjustments won't be shown in RAW copies." I set this to ON.
