How to remove unread messages bubble at top in messages

Does anybody know how to remove the unread messages bubble in the top of text messages default app in the new 7.0 update. Added screenshot.

Press view and it opens the unread message

That used to never show up, I know if you press on it to read the list it will go away. I don't want it to pop up period and unnecessarily take up space for a good portion of the app, especially since I go through the messages anyway. It never used to before the update.
