Notification #'s doesn't appear on app picture

I have set my notifications to display on the apps picture but this does not show up on my phone. My old phone, S9, did not have this issue. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

@Mark57 Just confirming... you have settings -> Home screen -> App icon badges -> Number enabled?

I checked my app settings and I had turned on the "notifications on app icons". I turned this off so hopefully this will fix my issue. Thanks for your assistance! Mark
