Galaxy S21I have tried all troubleshoots found online (switch off DND, all volumes up and notifications allowed, reseted settings).
Messages notifications only working when playing media (I imagine the notification is rerouted to media volume). When selecting a notification sound from settings nothing plays, which leads me to believe notification sound is not working at all and it's a software issue introduced in last patch (Sept 1, 2025, G991U1UESHHY12, Android 15.0, One UI 7.0).
Thanks.

Galaxy S21Text tones are done in the messages app for individuals.
For individuals, open Google Messages, tap on a contact, tap on the 3 lines, details, notifications, sound, pick a tone.
To set a general tone in Google Messages open notifications, scroll to Google Messages, scroll down to notification categories, scroll down to incoming messages and set a tone.
I don't use Samsung Messages so I forgot how to set them.

Galaxy S21Thank you, as I said from the settings app already doesn't sound when I'm selecting an option. But if I happen to be playing music it does (from the same notification sound selection in settings).
I tried with messages and WhatsApp. None worked. I really think is something from the patch (OS) rather than individual apps, I appreciate your input.
