My phone will not lock! My home screen keeps changing to something I don't want! My battery dies in at a remarkable rate like never before! I leave for a cruise in 2 weeks... please fix it!

This is a peer-to-peer user help forum. No one from Samsung is reading your posts. If you have a specific issue that others may help you with, post it or put in an error report through the support tab in the Members App.

After any update, battery life deteriorates for a bit, but usually quickly rebounds.  This was a major update of both the OS and the UI and, thus, takes more energy.  It will take 7-14 days (could be less) for the adaptive battery to relearn your usage pattern.  In the meantime, the update is still putting things in place behind the scenes and all your apps are updating, as well.  When that settles down, your battery life will return to normal or even get better.  Look around the forums, many people who were griping about the battery life initially are now saying the battery life actually improved later on. Be patient. By the time you leave for your cruise, it should be sorted.  Cruise ships have power outlets and USB ports in the cabins, so it shouldn't be an issue to keep your phone charged.  You should carry a power bank with you anyway for when you are out and about on excursions or exploring.

Can you elaborate more about your phone not locking and your home screen changing?

Thank you for the reply. I have power banks that I take cruising with me.
About my lock screen, I always put my cabin number and name on my lock screen in case I lose it on the ship. I had it set up but with the update I will pick up my phone and my lock screen has changed ge to the default screen. I then have to go into wallpaper setting and select the one I want. I have had to do this about 10 times yesterday. Ok so far today. It changes my home screen to match the default lock screen!

Are you by any chance using Zedge for wallpapers? Someone else had a similar issue with the wallpaper changing and it seems there was a setting in Zedge to auto backup the wallpapers and that was causing the wallpapers to change. If you use Zedge, check the settings.

I have no idea what Zedge is. What is really bothering me is the size of font on my notifications and other photos se tons that does not change size under display. It is so small I can't read it. 1747001863272.jpg

Well, I have seen a lot of complaints about this issue and no solution.  Perhaps you should put in an error report.

I'll reserve my opinion on UI7 to when I get it and had a chance to look it over.

Cheers
