Remove always on display

I have a s21 on one UI7 update, when I enable the now bar always on display started to pop up. I went to the settings to turn it off and the setting was turn off. I don't understand why it keep on popping up when the setting is off. Am trying to get rid of this feature I never used it,never liked it and is a senseless feature. Someone knows if this is came with update or how to get rid of it?

To turn off AOD, go to settings, lock screen and AOD. You can toggle it off there.
