Hey, PalletJack. Thank you for sharing this concern with the community. Having the ability to control your Smart devices from your phone; can make daily chores much more accessible. However, I just want to gather some more information regarding your concern. Do you get any pop-up messages or error messages when you try to access the Smart Controls from the lock screen?
I also recommend checking the Settings for the Lock Screen. It is possible there could have been changes to your settings after a recent update. Go to Settings > Lock Screen > Screen Lock Type. There you should be able to tap and edit items and apps' appearance on your lock screen. Also, could you check the About Lock Screen option? You should be able to update your Lock Screen Software.
