I have a Samsung S 21 that is about 3 years old. Also when we switched to T Mobile.

I am unable to get on the internet or make calls when not connected to wifi. It tells me my phone is not registered on a network. It will not allow me to connect to. T Mobile or any network..
It did this a few years ago and reset itself. It also happened a year ago an after a number of calls to T Mobile, they were able to fix it.
We've talked to T Mobile several times and they replaced the sim card, which works on my husband's phone, reset settings.... no luck.
They say it is my phone.

My guess is the port hasn't completed yet

Maybe you didn't registered the device on tmobile. Where you put in the IEMI number in your tmobile account when adding a new device.

You have to contact TMobile to have them reprovision the phone.
