Galaxy S21

Hello, I am currently using a S21 ultra and recently, the back broke from a 2 drop fall, so I figured that the glass was weak and I thought the Phantom Silver back looked cool, so I got it. I recently put it on the phone, and I was using it when I realized that when I tap, it duplicates the taps, or swipes from a tap. When I swipe or hold, it gets extremely shaky and shakes to the side by like a whole centimeter, see the image. In the image, i tried making straight lines, and at the top I tried writing "hello" as you can see. This all makes typing or gaming impossible. Right now, I have taken the phantom silver back off and am typing this, because it's the only way the touchscreen will be normal.

My question is, is it that I might have loosened something during the replacement? Or is the new metal back too conductive? Someone told me the back is conductive and it should be glass like the original black cover rather than this silver metal. That makes sense because my phone is only working when I have it off. Someone please answer my concerns, thank you!

Hello, Welcome to the Community. We understand how frustrating it is when the touchscreen of the phone is not responding correctly.

There are some simple ways to get the touchscreen working again when it’s frozen, unresponsive, or acting funny. Here are some troubleshooting steps to assist you with your phone touchscreen issues https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01213974/

Additionally, if you are using a screen protector or case, be sure there is no debris or dust in contact with the phone. Try removing the case and testing the phone.

We also recommend running the diagnostics in the Members app, under the Support tab.
