After updating yesterday to Android 16/UI 8, my SIM card is no longer recognized.
My phone tells me to insert a SIM card when 8 try and turn mobile networks on my phone diagnostics say the SIM card is good, just can't connect to a network.
I can't make any changes as the 'Access Point Names' and 'Network Operators' are greyed out.
Also, when I go to check for system update it says there's no info about the latest update... And I get an error message if I try and run a check...
Did my update somehow get botched? His so I force a re-update?

I switched from Verizon to Mint Mobile 6 months ago, and this is my first major update since. but I bought the phone already unlocked. Did this update somehow reset it? Why can't I make changes like I did when I switched networks?
Will a factory reset get me around this? (Able to modify my access point and network?)
Desperate to not buy a new phone just yet ๐Ÿฅบ

You may have to ask your carrier to reprovision your phone.

Doesn't work. In fact, my mint mobile SIM card works on my son's unlocked iphone, but putting it back to my Samsung device, it says no service (circle with a slash on it)

I would also like to know how to reverse update. The most important part of having a phone (making calls) has been made inoperable because of a software update. This is unacceptable and needs to be corrected immediately

Sorry, updates cannot be reversed or rolled back.  Even if they could, if the update somehow interfered with your phone's ability to make calls, there's no guarantee that a rollback would reverse the condition.  This is an issue that simply has to be worked through.  Since the update came through your carrier (who adds their own stuff), and calling issues (barring hardware issues) are generally carrier issues, you need to first start with contacting your carrier.  You can also put in an error report with the Samsung engineers.

I have a Google Voice phone number (free) which I use as a backup for both calls and texts. It's mostly outgoing currently, because I haven't given everyone that number. Maybe something for you to try. You probably need a Google/Gmail account.

I'm very concerned about losing everything on my SD card if I can't unmount the card properly (happened with a different phone!), so I've been carefully making backup of everything before opening the SIM card tray since it also serves as the SD card tray. I doubt there is any problem with it but will check it before calling Mint Mobile for assistance.
