After updating yesterday to Android 16/UI 8, my SIM card is no longer recognized.
My phone tells me to insert a SIM card when 8 try and turn mobile networks on my phone diagnostics say the SIM card is good, just can't connect to a network.
I can't make any changes as the 'Access Point Names' and 'Network Operators' are greyed out.
Also, when I go to check for system update it says there's no info about the latest update... And I get an error message if I try and run a check...
Did my update somehow get botched? His so I force a re-update?

I switched from Verizon to Mint Mobile 6 months ago, and this is my first major update since. but I bought the phone already unlocked. Did this update somehow reset it? Why can't I make changes like I did when I switched networks?
Will a factory reset get me around this? (Able to modify my access point and network?)
Desperate to not buy a new phone just yet ๐Ÿฅบ

Appreciate the earlier advice to put in a report ticket to Samsung. What seems to be the root cause of the tenor of this thread is tech/IT people assume their customers don't know anything. There is good troubleshooting from users on this thread. It is clear the issue is software related. Whether it is the fault of Samsung is up for debate, but it is 100% software and it is the most recent update that caused the issue. And it seems poor form to take the way of the Gearbox CEO to blame the age of tech for the issue. We pay a lot of money for this tech. Maybe companies need to build better hardware.

I am having the same problem. I am thinking of I do a factory reset that may resolve th issue. However, did you get any solution for the Samsung team..

I dild the update Nov. 25 2025. And all was working before the update.

Before you reset your entire phone, are you aware that you can just reset the mobile network to see if that helps?  It's less troublesome than a complete reset, and if it doesn't work, you can go ahead with the reset.  Just so you know, resetting the phone doesn't automatically reset the mobile network, you have to opt in for it to do it.

I have this same problem.  I updated yesterday and now my SIM is unrecognized.  Also, when I try to access the Sim Manager, the screen goes black, eventually loads it with no information  and then crashes.  This is a severe problem - breaking core functionality of my phone.  What gives?

I've attached screen shots.  If you notice, the phone got switched to the DS (Dual-Sim) version  on a previous update even though this is most definitely NOT a dual-sim S21 FE.  Not that I expect any real help from anyone at Samsung.  Based on the  "Ambassador"'s previous message, I'm supposed to submit an  error report BUT that functionality doesn't work on my phone either.

If you can access the Members app, you can access the error reporting/feedback link.  It's in the support tab of the members app.  Unless you are not in the United States.

I'm going to keep posting on here until someone does something about this as it is completely unacceptable that an official update would break this phone.

Oh, as a kicker (which I don't expect everyone to even try on their own) I also tried to reinstall the update using Odin.  This didn't fix anything. The version currently installed is: G990U1UEUJIYJ4.

I noticed that there is also a new version: G990U1UESKIYK2 that was released recently but was not pushed to my phone automatically.  Does this version fix this problem?

This isn't something I should be dealing with AT ALL.

Posting here will garner you no results, though you are free to keep talking to the wall.  The only way you are going to get any results at all is to put in a proper error report.  That is the only way the developers will know how widespread a problem it is, and find the common denominator in the uploaded logs.

Why are you @ ing me?  I do am not a Samsung programmer and I do not work for Samsung in any capacity.  I cannot fix anything for you.  Put in an error report.
