WiFi won't stay connected since update.

Can't find the right answer. My Galaxy S21 5G took an update and hasn't been able to hold the wifi connection since. Tried ALL the suggested fixes and no joy. It's not that it simply drops the connection, the wifi button turns off. Becomes subdued, so there is no automatic reset. I'll touch the button to connect again and it just spins. There needs to be a patch soon I'll be forced to buy a new phone, and sure as **bleep** won't be a Samsung.

Please specify what fixes you have tried. There may be something you have not considered that members here can offer you.

Worst case scenario, you can visit a certified Samsung repair center to diagnose the issue and have any necessary repairs completed.

I did all these except for a factory reset. I don't won't to lose my apps and other stored info. I'm sure I'm not the only experiencing this problem. Everything worked fine until the last update. There needs to be a patch released.

 

1. Restart Your Device

  • Simple Restart: This can often resolve minor software issues.

2. Check Wi-Fi Settings

  • Forget and Reconnect: Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi, tap your network, and select Forget Network. Reconnect by entering the password again.
  • Disable Wi-Fi Optimization: In the Wi-Fi settings, tap on the three dots in the upper right corner to access Advanced, then turn off Wi-Fi Optimization.

3. Reset Network Settings

  • Navigate to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings.

4. Update Software

  • Check for any software updates: Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Keeping your device up-to-date can resolve known issues.

5. Reboot Your Router

  • Restart your Wi-Fi router to reset any potential problems with the connection.

6. Change Router Settings

  • Frequency Band: If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, try connecting to a different band.
  • Channel Settings: Access your router settings and change the Wi-Fi channel for less interference.

7. Check for Interference

  • Ensure there are no physical obstructions or devices near the router that may interfere with the signal (like microwaves or cordless phones).

8. Test in Safe Mode

  • Boot your device in Safe Mode to see if any third-party apps are causing the issue. To enter Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button, tap and hold the Power off option, and then select Safe Mode.

9. Factory Reset

  • If all else fails, consider doing a factory reset (this erases all data, so back up first). Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory data reset.

I have the same issue. I don't think it has anything to do with the router because it is a problem no matter where I am. Super troubling.

Check your wifi provider. It Might be slow. Spectrum put a booster on my on my wifi and boom, its been great...

Thanks, but I've got plenty of wifi. Everything else works fine. And it doesn't explain why the switch keeps turning itself off, not just dropping the connection.

Nothing about Wi-Fi providers or anything they misleading you,

It's a problem with Galaxy UI 7.0
It's supposed to be to save battery that the system should shut off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not used but it's a total failure Samsung wall would not take the apply they would say it's a memory board issue since this is an old phone they want you to upgrade,

I checked my Wi-Fi connection history and I see it was turned off by UI system

It's very annoying and it happens to all of us since this is all model galaxy won't do anything to fix
Don't be resolution you can do is you can switch it to battery saver which enters in a different UI model and you can switch it back but it doesn't eliminate the problem just the temporary fix

How do you monitor this? I would like to see the log on my own device as it's frequent.

I'm having the same issue with my S21 Ultra since they forced a UI update on me back in October. I reset my phone probably 10-20 times per day (sometimes more) to get the wifi and Bluetooth to work again. Been a Samsung customer for 11 years. I'm not getting a Samsung as soon as I trash this **bleep** phone. Worked great until October. It's a shame.
