I haven't been able to use wifi recently. What do I have to do in order for my wifi to stay on?

There is no definite answer. Try using wi-fi in other places and see if you get same results everywhere.

You can try resetting your router/modem, have your device forget the network and then sign back in, request your carrier do a network reset from their end.
