why is the message entry box so small in the messaging app?

The section of the screen reserved for a previous reply is two times the size of message entry box! Why?

If the message is more than 6 lines long, then I have scroll through this tiny 1" window to read what I typed! Why?

There is no way to change this, that is obvious to me.

Why design such a small message entry box with the previous reply box so big?

What messaging app are you currently using?;for Android or iPhone? This information is pertinent in figuring out the issue you are experiencing. You may have input the needed info somewhere that I may have missed it? I am new to the Samsung community!
