AOD and Lock Screen Notifications in OneUI 7

I figured out how to set up widgets on the AOD and lock screen easily enough, but it took me a couple of days to realize I was no longer seeing notifications on these screens. I suppose they were actually there, but OneUI 7 defaults to showing them as tiny notification icons at the very top like those that appear on the home screen. To change it back to appearing as larger icons under the floating clock and widgets, go to Settings/Notifications/ Lock Screen Notifications and change the Style to Cards.  I didn't see anyone asking about this yet on the S22 board (or complaining about how much they hate the change) so I thought I'd drop it here proactively. Or maybe everyone else just searched for the info like I did and already figured it out. Cheers.

You forgot the third option that maybe some people just don't want to see notifications on their lock screen and that's why they are not complaining.

That's a fair point, though if history is a good indicator, not actually wanting something would not prevent people from posting how much they hate not being able to have it and "why do they have to change everything to be like Apple." I personally rarely see more than a glimpse of the lock screen since I go straight from AOD to home via fingerprint, but the two appear to be paired.

Amen. But I am fine with icons. Once one sees a notification, human nature is that they are compelled to act on it, even if just to look at it. The lock screen is a respite to that.

@realaud I just ran across this thread again and now I think I misunderstood something about this exchange. If I'm reading your post correctly, you want notification icons but not the detail contained in the card to show on your lock screen. That is actually what I would prefer, but I also prefer to have the larger notification icons appear on my AOD. I was overlooking the small AOD notification icons in the top bar because I wasn't used to looking there. I would rather have these larger icons with no details show up on both my AOD and my lock screen, but that does not appear to be an option even with Lock Star. The options are small icons on the top bar in both screens or large icons on AOD plus full cards on the lock screen. I even tried turning off setting the lock screen notification to Hide Content, but it still shows in my testing. Is there a way to get just the large icons in the middle of both AOD and Lock screens? (And to hope that one day we'll see app-colored icons again.)

I use the standard icons on both my lock screen and AOD.  they are under my clock.  When there is a notification, I get an app icon.  If there are no notifications, they are invisible.  Notification icons that appear on the status bar, do not appear on either the lock screen or the AOD - and I don't want them there.  The place for them on the status bar is on the home screen, and the home screen only, as far as I am concerned.  What I said, though, is that some people do not want to see anything on their lock screen or AOD except for the clock and their wallpaper.  Some people don't like their screens cluttered up, and others like to see every notification their phone spits out (even if they get a lot) on the lock screen because they do not want to bother unlocking their phone.  This, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of having a lock screen in the first place - why not just keep the phone unsecured?

So on the lock screen, are you seeing icons under the clock with or without the details? It's like just icons on both but haven't figured that out yet. As to you last question, I rarely see the lock screen because I use the fingerprint unlock on AOD.

I have chosen not to see notification details - icons only on the lock screen. I *can*, if I wish see the details, as I have enabled Notistar, but that was just an experiment to see what it was like, I haven't disabled it, because the details are hidden until I slide up on the icon, so it doesn't bother me. I only see icons on the AOD, but not every app shows the notifications on the lock screen (the ones that I chose silent notifications for don't show). On the lock screen notifications, I chose "hide content"

I have enabled the icon panel on both the lock screen and AOD in LockStar.  I'd post a screen shot, but I currently have no notifications.  I will come back and post a screen shot when I do.

Thank you. It was driving me crazy. I don't keep my ringer on all the time. I don't want to pick my phone up every 5 mins to see if I got a text!!!
The new update SUCKS!!!
