My S22 updated this morning. Settings says it's now running Android 15 and One UI 7.0. After the update, when I press and hold the lower button on the right side of the phone (which always turned off the phone), now I get an "Ask Gemini" window. I've held the button down for a LONG time and the phone still won't turn off. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a way to turn off your phone?

Swipe down from the right side of the screen and click the power icon. You can then select Power off or Restart.

To change the side button to power off your phone, go to phone settings -> Advanced features -> Side button

I liked this one best and it worked: phone settings -> Advanced features -> Side button  Thanks!

Agreed, and thank you for pointing this option out. I have not warmed to using an AI assistant or any other digital assistant, but I do restart my phone occasionally. I made this change as well.

My Mom's phone got this update.  The "Side button" settings page fails to load.  Even after reboot.  Samsung is making her want to stop using a cellphone entirely.

@Piankhi Did you wipe the device cache partition after the update? I recommend that you do this after every device update. It wipes out incompatible or outdated cache information which might be incompatible after the update. It does not erase any user data nor applications.

To wipe the device cache partition:

1. Power off your device.
2. Power up while holding down the Volume up key and the Side key until the Samsung logo appears.
3. An Android recovery menu will appear.
4. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Wipe cache partition.
5. Click the side key to select it.
6. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Yes.
7. Click the side key to select it. The Cache will be wiped almost instantaneously.
8. Click the side key to select "Reboot system now"

I'm still waiting for the update. You would think that unlocked devices purchased directly from Samsung would be 1st, but nope. I'm still glad to see that it's making is way, though.
