After this recent update, my S22 is now auto taking photos whenever it detects a face. How do i disable this?

I would suggest trying to boot into safe mode and see if it's still doing it. If not, then you know it's not due to the update it's probably due to some malicious app.

The issue is resolved. It was a shirt I was wearing that kept setting off the auto capture as if you showed a palm.

Nope it's due to the update that we are forced too do nothing but AI **bleep** I mean if Google wanted to change it over they should just go ahead and start calling the Samsung and Google phones iPhones cuz that's all literally what this looks like is nothing but iPhone I had a Google phone so I didn't have to pay for apps it was easy to use and I didn't have to worry and tell this update I don't know why Google took it upon herself to force the AI **bleep** down everybody's throat people that wanted it should have been giving it and the people that don't want it shouldn't have to be forced to have it

This. My phone updated on Tuesday. And this behavior is new. The stock camera app is now different, both the icon and the way the settings and modes are rearranged inside the app. And for the front facing camera, when it detects a face, a yellow box appears around it and it takes the picture. Wearing a Deadpool shirt it is snapping multiple pictures focused on me or the shirt. But only in good lighting and when held at an arms length distance. I very highly doubt it's another app causing this. It's definitely the update. They added this to the camera for convenience, but it's anything but that. I want to control my pictures, not have some ui7 ai be in control.

I'm assuming that this is when your Camera is open? Is it possible that they are showing their palm, or saying something like Smile, Cheese, etc. This can be disabled in Camera settings.

I was wearing a Deadpool shirt. It was repeatedly taking pictures of my face or my shirt after showing a yellow box showing it detects a face. It has never done this before. Pictures still in the gallery, so i know it wasn't just a que to smile. And I can't find a setting to disable auto taking of focused selfies. This is from the front facing camera.

@Shaneless There is no setting to disable automatic taking of selfies because it isn't a new feature. Yes, if it detects a face it puts up a square but it does not automatically take a picture.

It is automatically taking pictures though. There is no doubt about that. Well lit room and the phone has to be about arms length, and it is automatically taking pictures after focusing with the yellow square. This behavior is new after the update on my phone.

Edit: Discovered from another user, there really is an auto-capture feature when you show a palm. (And now i know what you meant when you mentioned a palm). It's a feature I never knew existed. The shirt I was wearing may have been setting the auto-capture off repeatedly. That would explain why the condition of the phone being at arms length was needed. It would then detect something on the shirt (as if it was a palm) and then the yellow square would focus on either mine or Deadpool's face. I posted the possible offending shirt to the user that informed of the feature.

@Shaneless when this behavior occurs, is the camera app showing a three-second countdown before taking the photo as it does when one triggers a photo by showing a palm or saying "capture?" Is there any chance your power button got mapped to photo capture and is stuck in by a case? Was the update you got on Tuesday the OneUI 7 update with the April patch or did you get the May update already? I have not seen this behavior but am curious.
