Battery drain and lock screen widgets

Please fix the battery drain. It's not learning my usage, and I've wiped the cache partition and so on. This issue can only be fixed with an update like Samsung pushed out for the S24 and S25 series. That said, short of a few bugs and missing the hidden widget screen when tapping the lock screen clock, I'm digging this. Sure there's a few learning curves but that's to be expected when you get an overhaul like this. Fix the battery drain and this will be as exciting as when we switched from TouchWiz IMO. That's my thoughts for now. Cheers! S22U.

After a major OS update like One UI 7, your phone often needs a few days to optimize and settle. Background processes might be re-indexing, compiling apps, and adjusting to the new software. Give it about a week to see if the GPS usage naturally decreases.

Thanks for the response, Angel. It's been 8 days now.. After searching a little and the people I've personally spoken to, this is a very widespread problem spanning all models, s21-s25, on multiple carriers. For samsung, or anyone else to expect all of us users to individually tackle this problem is Ludacris.

No 3rd party apps, no factory resets.. a solution!

Show your battery usage stats where the location services is using your battery.  Location services uses negligible power no matter how many times it's accessed.

Ahh good call.. which led me to my next question, what's using the gps? I noticed the times correlated with the Bluetooth. I headed over to Gemini 2.5 and plugged in that information and it told me that:

Android 15 is reportedly making significant improvements to Google's "Find My Device" network. This network leverages Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to locate devices, even when they are offline or powered off.

That being said I also found a setting in my connections for Ultra wideband, "identify the location of nearby devices."

I turned that off and so far phone services and Bluetooth are only coinciding in location usage history about every 10 minutes instead of persistently 🤞

The Main downside of One UI 7 is Lag, which will lead to low response time and battery consumption. Hopefully Samsung makes an update to fix.

So far, some id10t moderator has suggested taking the phone in for repair. Apparently they're incapable of understanding when a number of people are having this problem after the latest One UI update.

I would look at what apps you have that are using accessibility services.  Taskers AutoInput would cause lag on OneUI6 and it broke the bottom nav buttons on OneUI7.

I reported mine having battery drain because of UI one 7 update about a week or so ago, I just checked and saw there was an update, I downloaded and installed it, not sure if it was a fix but I'll find out tomorrow how my battery does at work
