Every time I look at the battery percentage at the top right, I think it is telling me how many notifications I have or something. Rounding the edges and not putting a percentage sign after the number is not customer friendly. I think Samsung needs to revisit the idea of why they make phones (besides making money). Ultimately, you want customers to be happy with a product so they will continue to buy it. Maybe there is some ulterior motive for the update changes but it did not include making sure the customer would have a good experience with the device. Poor business decision to say the least.

Many users are dissatisfied with the battery pill. See this post for a couple of alternatives:

@24sevnlibrarian I'm not sure why it makes you think it is the number of notifications when notifications have always been on the left side of the screen.

One resolution is to remove the battery percentage from the pill. Then it will only show the battery level by how much of the pill is highlighted.

To me, showing the % sign seems redundant and a waste of critical screen space.

They really should've made a way to leave the percentage and get rid of the pill. Maybe in One UI 8.

I have taken to removing the battery pill using GoodLock and the QuickStar module and I found a amazing app called Battery Widget Reborn. With this app I was able to put a battery widget on my screen, and have a battery percentage in the status bar.

I love it, I also put it on my S25U's lockscreen and AOD.1747328272680.jpg

THE BATTERY PERCENTAGE DISPLAY IS WAY TOO SMALL! VERY HARD TO SEE. I don't need the percentage symbol, just need to read the number!
