After almost 26 hours I gave up and factory reset my phone, everything carried over because I fully backed up my device and it turns out that the orange calling app is no longer compatible with the new version. When I did the factory reset it loaded a different calling app, now my phone works like normal. These are the new default apps on the bottom.

Exactly! Unfortunately I had no choice to make such a drastic decision because I use my phone for work but luckily it all worked out now my phone works perfectly.

I have the same calling app shown in your screenshot and it won't work after the update. I installed the Google phone app and it works. Trying not to do a factory reset just now but that may be how I spend my Friday.

The problem is, doing the reset is the only way to remove the pre existing app.

Wow, the factory reset is a huge last resort. Most users probably want to avoid that. You shouldn't have to go to such draconian measures when it's not your fault. A fix is coming, just not soon enough.
