Google Messages RCS chat doesn't stay connected

On TMobile and just got Nov update.  RCS does not stay connected in Google Messages.  I can disable chat and then turn back on for a temporary fix.  I have also tried to turn off SIM.  Any thoughts on how to keep it enabled.

I like Samsung messaging better for some reason and rcs works great
