Nice going Google/Samsung, can not keep apps locked open anymore. Now everytime I get in my car or connect to a Bluetooth device I have to open the app and restart my music.

Some phone manufacturers or software providers may have implemented policies to optimize battery life or prevent apps from running in the background, which can affect the ability for apps to remain open or automatically launch. However, there are still some ways to work around this issue

One option is to use a third-party app that can keep your apps running in the background, such as "Greenify" or "Stay Alive." Another option is to check your phone's settings to see if there's an option to "whitelist" certain apps or allow them to run in the background. Additionally, you can check if you have the latest version of the app you're using, as some updates may include the feature you are looking for.

Try to make sure apps in question aren't going to sleep.  Go to device care, battery then background usage limits.  Tap "never sleeping apps" and add apps into list.  You could also go into app details for each app and set its battery to either optimized or unrestricted.  I had to do this with music apps because they would shut off a couple minutes after screen went off while driving and I would have no music.

OK, one other thought and this was my issue when I first got phone when trying to use music apps in car.  Go to settings / apps / toggle on show system apps.  Search for media.  Tap it and make sure battery optimized or unrestricted.  Do the same for "media and devices" app.  May need a reboot, never hurts.
