IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAMSUNG MESSAGING APP

I just read this article. The Samsung's Messaging app is making a comeback in a huge and exciting way. If this story is true, the Samsung Messages app will rival the Google Messages app. I am excited to see RCS messaging functionality, the ability to respond to messages with emoji's, and the capability to see when recipients have read your texts are going to be incorporated into the app which already features a trash folder to retrieve deleted apps, and the theme integration feature. It will make the Samsung Messages app far superior to any of the messaging apps that are offered.

I just wish some of these features could somehow be offered to Galaxy users as a preview of what is to come. Hopefully, Samsung could consider releasing some of the features to the message app in the One UI 7.1 update. That would require getting any of the kinks out beforehand. It would be awesome though.

I have big doubts. Because GM uses proprietary RCS and apple is using gsmarena RCS. ( Two different types, ie like cdma and gsm for OG 🤭🤭)

Unfortunately G! Is NOT putting their api out there for others to implement ( thus all sms apps you see unable support RCS).

Samy is also not paying/ spending to license or develop SM/RCS ( already announced they wont bring cross-platform RCS encryption ( iOS-android ).

So hoping Sammy do right thing is strongly just a pipe dream 😥. Dont believe me, try call, email, sms sammy tech support.

Heck @MsVirgo87 also discovered too, they didnt alllow her s25u to get latest versions of SM. That is bad practice !

I really hope it does. Prefer to use it, especially since you can retrieve messages from the trash.

That trash folder feature and the theme integration feature is why I prefer using the app.

also samsung message has 1 huge disadvantage: no web version support, google message has https://messages.google.com/web/ simply login to my gmail account then i can send/receive all my SMS/RCS messages directly from my laptop browser which is nice

That function may be in the new Samsung Messages app, too. When the release of the One UI 8 beta version is released, more information will become available.
