I have been looking for a simple .txt editor that will work with Samsung's file manager (S22..) and

  • Locate a .txt file in "My Files" ( manager).  Or other text file extensions (.log, etc)
  • Tap to open (or .. open with)
  • View/edit the file
  • Save (to original location)

I have downloaded/tried dozens of .txt editors.  Almost none work with My Files.  For most, you have to open the app first, then find and open the file inside the app.  Often they will not permit the file to be saved in the original location or format.

I have found some bloated office apps which work, but are cumbersome (ie open office, Word).  Others like Chrome can open the file but cannot edit/save it.

Why isn't there a free simple "PC like Notepad" app available?  (plenty are called notepad but aren't)

There was one app with promise- Quick edit.  But the ads are insane.  (There is a paid version that claims to be ad free that I have not yet tried)

If anyone has found one I would  appreciate a response post!
