On 5/26, my S22 Ultra suddenly disconnected from the network. Even though it showed bars and 5G, I was unable to make calls. Occasionally, it showed "no service" at the top and a notification that "your phone's not on a registered network, so you can only make emergency calls." After a Google search, I tried:

1. Phone restart
2. Airplane mode off and on
3. Software is up to date
4. Removed SIM, wiped down, reinserted
5. Another SIM
6. Reset network settings
7. Toggled SIM on & off
8. Factory reset

Then:
9. AT&T, 2 different stores over 3 visits - every time I was in the store, it connected. But it clearly was not a network issue, so they could only offer replacement by insurance or trade in
10. Geek Squad - offered replacement, same as AT&T
11. uBreakiFix - offered to replace parts, but stated 70% of the time, it is a software error, and the phone must be replaced anyway.

I can't find any information on Samsung recognizing the issue, which seems to be quite widespread over the past year & including S23 Ultra, and offering replacement. I am out of warranty, and my extended warranty with All State has expired.

Are we going to get a class action lawsuit? Sign me up.

I just started having this problem, too. I had to replace my first S22 Ultra (which I preordered) with this same issue. The pre-ordered phone lasted 4 months until all of a sudden, the sim card wasn't working. For a while, the e-sim worked on that phone until it didn't. Then they sent me a refurbished one because there were no new phones at that point. That was July of 2022. Up until a couple of days ago, I had no issues. I haven't even updated my phone yet. I really am at a loss here. A factory reset didn't fix it the first time I got the brand new phone. I refuse to do it again. I had to help my parents upgrade from the S10 to the S25+. That was a **bleep**g nightmare. The transfer of data not only led to their phones getting hot it didn't transfer over half of the stuff. Plus the photos were all mixed up during the transfer and ended up on their Google storage which led to them having to delete photos because they hit the max storage. I refuse to have the same issue.

Negative , New Sim , or ESim does nothing for the S22 ultra connection issues.

Similar problem for a fold 5 with an esim. Constantly dropping service, and won't work 4G at all. It's getting frustrating.

Same here with s22. 2 months now! Starting to wonder if it's Samsung trying to get people to buy new phones!!

I had similar issue with my s23. Phone was bricked after one ui 7 update. I thought it was due to the one ui update, like a software issue. I flashed the firmware to the newest version. Didn't work. I even reverted it to older versions. Didn't work either... After some research, I found out that it's likely caused by faulty USB charging board. It turns out that this is a quite common issue with s21,22 and 23. Somehow the antenna is relying on the charging board.

I had the USB charging board replaced. And it worked! Repair kits are available for 15 bucks online. It took me 30 min to replace it. Or you can have someone do it for like $100.

Same issue. All paths seemingly pointing to a known antenna / flex cable manufacturing defect. But my issue started almost exactly the same time as the OP which is very strange indeed...

At this rate, it's sensible for iPhone users to mock at us for choosing android.  It's a shame how Samsung is worshipped as a premium brand but they don't look into the problems that we the users are facing.  Network issues on a "flagship" phone is a shame. I dig my galaxy s22 ultra but seeing as I can barely connect to a network to use mobile data or make calls, I don't know whether to call it a phone anymore 🚮

I am about ready to toss mine, love the camera, but I have tried everything and it won't keep a connection with the cell service. Replaced the antenna, sims, service vendors, updates, etc. No help. Anyone send it back to Samsung? Local Samsung repair shop ran diagnostics and it sees problems but no solutions. Nothing physically wrong?

Has anyone had issues with thier Samsung S22 Ultra going in and out of the mobile network and staying on either "searching" or "emergency calls only"? This is the second Samsung phone in a row that has started this behavior out of nowhere, and ironically it always seems to happen AFTER I pay the device off. I have tried several things, switching out the Sim, resetting network connections, date and time check, power off and on, restarted phone, went to the T-mobile store which was not much help at all.

I know I am over due for an upgrade, but this phone is perfectly fine physically, never had any issues with it until this. And it is just baffling to me. Any and all help or guidance would be very much appreciated. I am in no place to be spending over $500 for a new phone right now.
