Under the messages icon it should day how many are there. It doesn't tell me how many unread I have on the home screen? Why not?

Samsung messages or Google messages? Look under settings, notifications, advance settings app icon badges. Make sure is on and to numbers, not dots.

I have the same issue. but mine is set to numbers and they don't show when I get a new message.

I was trying to change the stupid popup window for messages and I guess I changed something I shouldn't have.
