I've always had that issue, it's typically caused by body heat. But, you may have a rogue app that's constantly running. Could also just be you're on social media too much, that's what always heats my phones up way too hot for no reason, it's like they're doing too much background work. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Good morning Chica03,

I hope you are having an amazing Thursday so far! I hate to hear that you are experiencing overheating issues. There could be a few factors causing your phone to overheat like heavy usage in gaming or screaming. Can you confirm the device you are currently using?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps to try:

Clear Cache Partition:

1. Turn off your device.
2. Connect to a computer or USB-C headphones (this is required for recent Android versions/One UI updates to enter recovery).
3. Press and hold Volume Up and the Side (Power) button simultaneously.
4. Release both buttons when the Android logo or Samsung logo appears.
5. Use the Volume Down button to navigate and highlight Wipe cache partition.
6. Press the Side button to select.
7. Use Volume Down to highlight Yes and the Side button to confirm.
8. Once complete, press the Side button to select Reboot system now.

Test in Safe Mode:

1. Press and hold the Side button and Volume Down button.

2. Then touch and hold the Power off icon on the screen until the "Safe mode" icon appears.

3. Tap "Safe mode" to confirm

While testing if your device overheats in Safe Mode, the original system apps only runs, allowing you to uninstall any third-party apps that may be causing the overheating.

To exit Safe Mode just restart your phone normally via the power menu.

- Close any background apps: Stop heavy processing by swiping away apps in the recent apps menu.

Prevention tips for overheating issues:

1. Use original chargers: Only use Samsung-approved cables and chargers to avoid overheating caused by improper voltage.
2. Keep software updated: Go to Settings > Software update to ensure the latest fixes are installed.
3. Avoid direct sunlight: Do not leave the phone on a car dashboard or in direct sun.
4. Enable Power Saving: Use Power Saving mode to limit CPU usage and background data.

Let me know if this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

The "Wipe Cache Partition" option was removed from the recovery menu on the Samsung Galaxy S22 series (and others) starting with the February 2026 security patch. Samsung removed this feature to align with modern Android systems, which use A/B partitioning and automated cache management to handle system updates, making manual cleaning unnecessary.
