After updating recent update my phone will not hold a charge and dies at 45% then when trying to turn it back on it says 0% connect to charger. But after it get charged it dies all over again. Tried to reset it and cleared the the files but keep running into the same problems.

How old is your device? It could be that the battery is failing. Run diagnostics in Device Care.

Did you clear device cache after the update?

1) Turn off your device.

[Your device may need to be connected to a powered USB device (ex: computer) before proceeding to the next step.]

2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.

3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."

4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."

6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.

You may want to have the phone evaluated at a service center. If you're not close to an official Samsung location, there is probably a uBreakiFix near you. Here's how you can find both:
