Seems something is "strange" in Contacts.
I had several custom groups and had everything organized all well fine and good PRIOR to update to One UI 7.
Now, I see groups named "Where I Live" and "Not Assigned", which oddly have some of my vontacts in them, even tho they are in their CORRECT groups as well.
Noticed that OF COURSE cannot remove the Where I Live and Not Assigned groups. Also, weirdly, The count shown in my Emergency Contacts is DOUBLE the actual number in there.
This needs fixed as all it is doing is scambling my contacts.

Anybody?

Well, I THINK I got it taken care of. Of course had to do a lot of manipulating and even to reimport my contacts. It was a real mess, BUT, as I stated, I believe I got it fixed. šŸ¤žšŸ¤ž

The groups listing has been moved from the slide out menu in the contacts app to appear between your favorites and the letter A.  This is to align with the contacts tab in the phone dialer, where it has always been that way.

Issue NOT Groups Listing, but was HOW the stupid app altered my nice neat grouping into its own BS idea of proper.

I don't understand. One make a group, adds contavts to the group, then acesses the group when one wants to find a contact. What kind of arrangement are you referring to? It's just a list within a list. The only Samsung generated list is Emergency Contacts.

šŸ™‚ As I explained. Already. The update created new groups, put my contacts into different groups, and actually showed twice the actual emergency contacts. Basically I HAD it arranged the way I wanted, but it decided ON ITS OWN to utterly change MY ARRANGEMENT. So had to do FAR more than I really should have had to. THAT is what I am lodging complaint on.
When upgrading, leave my arrangement alone. Don't just arbitrarily arrange it however you feel like. It even had a number of my contacts which were listed under a category group as having no group.

That's unfortunate. Had you cleared your phone's cache?  I can't imagine anything at all in the update that would have caused that.  Thus far, out of all the bellyaching going on here about the update, yours is a singular complaint about this, so there must be something in your phone's configuration, or a third-party app, that interfered with putting things in their proper place.  If it was happening wide-scale, there would be a lot more complaints about it.

No 3rd party used. Only Samsung's built in Phone and Contacts apps. Cleared cache right after update applied. And yes, update did affect both Phone & Contacts, of course were just minor tweaks, but it DID add the 2 new groups, which just by adding altered my config. So, maybe may have affected my phone because I already had groups established.

It doesn't have to be a phone app interfering, it could be any third party app. However, clearing the phone cache after an update usually solves or prevents many problems.

None of the other apps touched it. If any 3rd party app had an effect I would have noticed and uninstalled said app. I always check contacts. And already stated. The ONLY difference was update to One UI 7. And IT ADDED AND CHANGED groups to contacts. So, YES, in my case it was indeed the update.
