Hey y'all! I hope someone has a solution to this. It started Thursday with my sister's phone. She has the S24 Ultra. She updated her phone Thursday to One Ul 7. Our Dad sent her a text & her phone started going haywire & eventually went into safe mode. She told him not to text her till. she got it figured out. She went to the AT&T store yesterday & they couldn't help her! She contacted Samsung support & they had her reset her phone to factory settings. She had our Dad text her again & her phone went into safe mode again!!

Galaxy S22Obviously, something is going on there that is forcing the phone to protect itself. Are you and your sister using Samsung or Google Messages? If you are using Samsung messages and this is happening, see what happens if you switch to Google Messages (and vice-versa). If everything stays normal, keep using the messaging app that works, if the same thing happens, put in an error report through the members app support tab (both of you). Make sure your logs are included. Do not reset your phone prior to sending the error report, they will need the log that contains the actual error. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692
Also, both you and your sister should follow the tips and tricks for best practices after an update. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/Best-Practices-After-an-Update/ba-p/3200871

Galaxy S22@BrandyT75 So all 3 phones are on Verizon. Is the other phones that he is texting also on Verizon?
Are these other people that he is texting using a Samsung phone? or iPhone? or ...?
I'm wondering if his phone has a malicious app which is using SMS messaging to transmit to others. If the message has to cross from one carrier to another, it might get blocked. If the other people are using another carrier, that could explain why they are not experiencing the same issue.

Galaxy S22@BrandyT75 I think if I was in that situation...
As a troubleshooting step, I would boot dad's phone into safe mode. While in safe mode, try sending a message to you and/or your sister. If nothing weird happens, you know that this is caused by some 3rd party software on his phone. If nothing weird happens, then you will have to remove 3rd party apps from dad's phone until the weirdness stops. To boot in safe mode, https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/
If the above test still results in weird issues, I would factory reset dad's device to ensure that non-factory software is removed.

Galaxy S22This is system wide issue due to the update. Call them for assistant and hopefully they'll have another update without glitches coming soon.
