I think I've found the best way to use Bixby so I wanted to share with others.

I've installed the Bixby App on my Main Screen -  press this ICON  and I'm able to make calls listed in Contacts, start other apps and reboot and restart phone by pressing lower button on right when phone is off.   I haven't tried using it for text messages but I'll try next.

I wouldn't get too attached to Bixby, it's being quietly phased out for Gemini

You can still use it but it's not the default anymore, the watches also still use bixby by default at the moment

This is actually the annoying part. Gemini, is way better general questions, concepts, and is a lot smarter at responding to everyday things because it's an AI model like chatgpt, the problem is it can't do much on your phone for you like Bixby does. Gemini is Google so it expects you to use Google docs, Gmail, Google sheets, etc. Bixby uses the Samsung/Microsoft apps. I made another post calling this out because we're in a terrible "transition period" with these assistants. Gemini I would say is better for "general assistant questions" (weather, calculations, can I feed this to my dog, etc) Bixby is better for on-device stuff, SmartThings integrations/smart routines and doing "Samsung phone things". Gemini is getting better but isn't quite there yet.

Google Assistant was constantly answering  when I called for Bixby to make phone calls from my contacts.  What I did was put the Bixby App on my phone Desktop Main Screen and click the lower right button (don't hold down) and Bixby does pick up to make phone calls, start apps, etc.

If my phone is closed down (no power) I just say Bixby or Hi Bixby reboot and my phone come back on.

I use Square Home for my Main Screen and have all the programs I use frequently on that screen (it's the same as the Windows Phone I had in the past).  My phone is the Samsung S22.
