S22 advanced messaging issues (S23 discussion)

 I have the carrier branded S22 on AT&T (where Google chat features are powered by AT&T opposed to Google) and always stuck in verifying # and never connects. I assume the carrier S23 will be the exact same so I'm looking to get an unlocked S23. I am fearful though bc the white list of unlocked devices published by AT&T shows the S22 supporting 5G and wifi calling but NOT advanced messaging. Can you please confirm? AT&T white list for reference:

Cricket said they didn't support th3 advanced messages but u turned it on and connected no issue all you have to do is try if it doesn't trade it in for the carrier locked version

Cricket now advertises advanced messaging as a feature. AT&T prepaid says it's a postpaid feature BUT several non S22 devices where Google chat features are powered by Google (JIBE) work just fine. The issue seems to be with them hijacking the S22 and chat features being powered by AT&T. I'm over the s22 and ready for the S23 and seeing what device I need to get that will work

They didn't when I got it. Like I said if you want unlocked get it and try it if it doesn't work then get a locked version
Pretty sure unlocked are powered by google and the carrier ones are based on the carrier
I have an unlocked s22 plus and it says powered by JIBE mobile

Are you using Google Messages or Samsung Messages? Chat features don't work on my unlocked phone with Samsung Messages, but does work if I use Google Messages.
