The Galaxy s22 drops battery  very quickly  within minutes. Like it goes from 85 to 79 extremely quick. I know the capacity  is low but the chip is supposed  to be optimized can Samsung  please push out an update. I only had this phone for 4 days now.

Some things that can help with Battery optimization, if you're just having a battery draining issue, is the following:

Note: The battery adaptive feature on S22 phone, may cause the battery to drain a little faster at first until the phone adapts to your usage, and learns how you're operating, the charge will be stored and used in different manners based on how you use your phone. This sometimes can take a few weeks for it to learn the habits and customize itself to make sure you have the best performance and lasting battery.

Optimize Apps:https://www.samsung.com/us/support/galaxy-battery/optimization/

If you're receiving an overheating message check out the following link:

If you've tried troubleshooting above, when it comes to problems overheating or exorbitant drain to the battery, repairs would be recommended. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.

I am sorry to hear of the S22 battery life not lasting for long, and can understand the frustration. When you get a brand new phone, the battery will take time to adjust to your usage and optimize its performance, so waiting and continuing to use the device will result in a better battery life over time, usually a few days to a week after. It can also be dependent on what app(s) you are running on the phone. Some things that can help with Battery optimization in addition are the following:

Optimize Apps:http://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001388/

Power Saving Mode & Battery Tips: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00079037/

If after waiting for the battery to adjust to your usage and trying the above do not work, there is always the option for repair, covered under the 1-year warranty. You may look into walk-in service repair options at your local uBreakiFix: https://www.ubreakifix.com/locations
For international customers, please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html

Samsung also offers ship-in repair options. Typically if uBreakiFix cannot fix an issue, the next step would be the ship-in repair. To look into ship-in options, you can private message us here with the full model code and IMEI number: https://bit.ly/3pE8Pkc

I charged the 22 Ultra to 85%

Next , I fired up Samsung TV Plus and put it to full screen and placed it on a shelf in the computer room, and wife and I jumped on the motorcycle and off for a ride the rest of the day.

Did I mention the S22 was charged to only 85% , NOT 100% ??

Okay... check the screenshot

Keep in mind I first fired up the 22 on Thur, so battery is still learning usage ... I say, another week and it should be settled in

In case the screenshot is non readable:

There is a protect battery setting ( under more battery settings), that stops charging at 85%.  You probably just need to go in and turn off that setting.

Hello, the battery life on my s22 ultra is very disappointing is this an error because I'm managing about 4 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time and with normal use I've only been using it for about 8 hours since it was charged to 100% and it's already at 14% this does not seem right. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm not doing anything demanding either just normal phone use.

There is no way its supposed to be like this. On a battery test on youtube I saw that they got 10 hours of screen on time. I think it's an issue with the software.

I'm keeping my S21 to go back and forth between the two if needed..💪🏾 software definitely needs optimizing.. It'll get better.

Ok, settings, connections and data usage. Turn everything off not needed. Really cripple some of the apps. Then go to settings, apps, 3 dots in right corner, permissions menu or any way to get to permissions. Start with wifi control history. Cripple anything you can there. Then go through the entire menu, limiting access to admin services etc. After that come back for part two. I get 2 to 3 days battery life off one charge. Also, put all apps to sleep . Wake them up as you use them. I charged my phone 2 days ago and am still at 78% and have been on it. At night put it in airplane mode.
