Is there a way to set up a notification for a specific email in Gmail that when pushed to a s22 ultra will ignore vibration mode, do not disturb, and bedtime?
I'm a volunteer firefighter who has almost missed a few calls because my phone decided that I didn't want to be bothered at night. I don't want everything to ring, but I REALLY need this to!
Let me reiterate, I do not want every email to go through, I need an alert (Hopefully one that will ignore vibrate and actually play a sound) to be pushed through when I receive an email from a specific email address with specific text telling me there's a fire and I need to go fight it.
I don't think there is a way for one specific email to have a notification. However, I do this, I forward the email address to my phone number so that way every email that comes in with that specific email address will go to my text.
While not sure about the Gmail app, this was somewhat possible with the stock Samsung Email app in Android 12. I know this, because that is exactly the issue I'm facing as well. In fact, I posted similar question not that long ago.
The way it worked was setting up the sender as VIP (added to the VIP group) in the email app. The group has its own notification settings. More importantly, I was able to exclude this specific group from Do Not Disturb. So when DND was on during the night, I would only receive sound alerts from the VIP group.
This is no longer possible with Android 13. You can only exclude an app from DND, which means, in case of an email app, ALL emails will come through. I am considering downgrading to v12 solely because of DND.
