UI 5.1 proximity sensor issue

Ever since I updated to 5.1 a few days ago on my Galaxy s22 ultra I've noticed when I try and place a phone call even though my face is not near the phone the proximity sensor activates and the phone switches to a black blank screen anybody else have these issues?

Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps so far, like wiping the cache partition or the repair apps option (both in found in Recovery Mode)?

And it's back again I just tried it tried placing a phone call and right away for some reason the proximity sensor activates turning the screen off as if my face was near the phone I have no idea why. This happened soon after I updated to 5.1

Oh no! So, to be perfectly clear, you have tried both the "Wipe cache partition" and "Repair apps" options in the Recovery Menu, correct? If you have done both, kindly navigate to the Support tab of the Samsung Members app. Find phone diagnostics and test the "Proximity recognition." Does the test pass?

Yes it passed the test and yes I did the partition wipe along with repair apps this work for a couple of minutes and 20 minutes went by and it's doing it all over again I even recorded it happening using my Galaxy tab and you can see that the infrared proximity sensor is lit up you can tell looking through the camera on the Galaxy tab I wish I can upload the video here

I believe you, no worries! This is a very odd situation. Those steps should work permanently. Try this... from the power menu, press down on the "Power down" icon on the screen until you see the "Safe Mode" option appear. Reboot the phone in Safe Mode. If the proximity sensor is working for an extended period of time while in this mode, then a 3rd party app is the culprit.

Our contacted live chat Samsung about this issue they said I should upgrade to the s23 ultra how wonderful of them to help me out so much 😡 😡 😡 👎

I just ran the diagnostic test for the proximity sensor typically you would have to put your hand near the screen for the screen to go black but in this case it goes black soon as I launch test
