Galaxy S22Short and simple:
I DO NOT WANT VISUAL VOICEMAIL.
Regular voicemail is, and was just fine. This app is frustrating and causing problems, especially when it solves NO problems at all.
I cannot disable it any way I've tried.
How do I get rid of it. I simply want the 'old' style of calling in, listening and using the dial-pad.
I have found the app and the system pops up 'you cannot disable visual voicemail'.

Galaxy S22You do not have to use it if you cannot disable or uninstall it. Just ignore it (or hide it) and access your voicemail the way you have always done. The voicemailbox icon is where it has always been, long press the "1" key, or tap your notification to call your voicemail. Many people find VVM very convenient, as they do not have to listen to every spam message in order to delete them and they can listen to their legitimate messages in any order they choose.
The nicest things about apps you don't want to use and can't uninstall on a Galaxy phone is that you can simply ignore them, or hide them so you don't even have to see it in passing.

Galaxy S22I've had no luck ignoring it. It crops up every time I try to use VM. no option to not interact with it somehow, even if it's hitting cancel every time.

Galaxy S22Just use it then, it's not going to bite you. Most people find it more convenient than having to listen to each voicemail message before they can move on to the next one. You are the only person, ever, that I've ever heard doesn't want it. In order to ignore it, you have to turn notifications off for it, while keeping notifications on for regular voicemail. Then it will not pop up. If you are having issues with the app, people here can help you sort it it.

Galaxy S22I don't feel realaud's reply (below) was useful. "Just use it then" he says...."it's not going to bite you". It "is" a PITA because it's a wasted step. Sure you can see the voicemail ahead of time. But now you have two extra steps: viewing the voicemail in your text messages and then having to delete the text, whereas before, all you had to do was just check voicemail, listen and delete. Now it's read the text (or not), delete the text, go to vm, listen and then still have to delete. Even if you delete the visual VM's texts, you still have to pass over the ones you deleted from text and handle them AGAIN when you're listening to all your VMs that you still want to hear or save. I don't know how to get rid of it on a Samsung, but today, I was about to delete it off my Motorola and it said if I delete visual VM--it will delete all voicemails. I GOOGLED for an answer if that's true and it said VMs are still on the carrier's files so no...they should still be there. I personally TAPE all voicemails from friends and family that I like to save for a time when my memory starts to fail or a loved one dies--I can still listen on good old fashioned cassette tapes. I still need to transfer the messages currently on VM, then I will use that option to delete the visual on my phone. To ALEX FURY... the Samsung person who's trying to delete it: On my Motorola in my PHONE app, on the bottom are 4 choices: favorites, recents, contacts and VM. I touch VM. That screen currently shows me all my VM. I click the 3 dots in the upper right. Then click SETTINGS. Then click VOICEMAIL. Then for me...it shows a choice called Visual voicemail with a button that you can turn off. If you have the same option, try turning it off there. Hopefully it works on your Samsung. I'm not a techie...just a 60yo lady who's frustrated with VVM also.

Galaxy S22I live in the mountains and have to use wifi calling as we have no cellular service here. My visual voicemail messages show up 3-4 days late, and without the visual part. I get the notification and have to listen to it to realize that it's a duplicate of the regular voicemail that came through days earlier. It's very annoying to have to re-listen to old voicemail this way, just wish visual voicemail could be disabled.

Galaxy S22Visual Voicemail is a carrier feature, just like regular voicemail. You will need to contact your carrier to disable Visual Voicemail. Once they disable it, you will receive normal voicemail and won't need to use the Visual Voicemail app. It should then convert to regular voicemails.

Galaxy S22This may be the only person on the planet who does not want VVM. Isn't the green VVM app a Samsung app? It's the one I was never able to get because my carrier has its own app. I was told it was only available for people whose carriers don't have their own app, as I always wondered why I could never find it in the Galaxy store. I think LongHiker told me that.
